# Mike Zak > Composer ## Posts - [On "Waiting for Inspiration"](https://mikezak.music/on-waiting-for-inspiration/): Everything We Do is Music– John Cage Since releasing Agape, I’ve been hit with a creative block. I can name many reasons, but that’s not the point of this post. My teacher Oded Zehavi was telling me the other day: “We are not sitting there waiting for inspiration to happen…”.Another day he said, “There are times when we write good music, and times when we write shitty music, but we write music all the time.” I’ve been pondering this while being unable to write either good or shitty music. Without inspiration – I’m stuck in front of a blank page,… - [Immortality](https://mikezak.music/immortality/): The Daoist seeks immortality.Yet the Daoist does believe that all that exists is natural. He does not believe in the supernatural. And the Daoist accepts the fact that death is a natural part of life.So how come the Daoist seeks immortality? The Daoist doesn’t pursue immortality believing it is attainable. He strives for immortality knowing that he will never attain it.He does so nonetheless, because through this striving he achieves the greatest longevity he could ever achieve. - [Composing a Story](https://mikezak.music/composing-a-story/): One way I like to compose is by thinking of a story and then re-imagining said story in sounds.I often assign a concrete character to each instrument, telling the story through their role in the music, through their interactions – be it symbiosis or conflict.Naturally, the key to a good piece is music that is pleasant to listen to, so I do allow myself to stray from the assigned roles when the music requires it, yet more often than not – it is far from necessary. Now, I do not intend for the audience to understand my story; that would be… - [Photos From Album Release Concert](https://mikezak.music/photos-from-album-release-concert/): On January 27th, 2026, we celebrated the release of my album Agape with a concert at Studio Annette in Tel Aviv. Video coming soon! - [Loss and Regrowth](https://mikezak.music/loss-and-regrowth/): As we sin, so do we suffer. The experience of loss has led many to search for meaning and understanding. Perhaps immense pain turns into a search for answers, for its causes, in an “all-knowing” God. As I see it, punishment does not come from an all-seeing, all-knowing deity. Reality itself is stronger than us, and every action carries consequences, for better or worse. The pain of loss leads… ## Pages - [Blog](https://mikezak.music/blog/) - [Mike Zak - Composer](https://mikezak.music/): Mike Zak – Composer Art shines a light on what we too often overlook. It allows us to communicate ideas for which words alone are not enough, creating a world of colors, movements, and sounds that can speak louder than speech itself. For me, the art I create is not only a passion but also a way to bring change through music.Music is often described as “the language of emotion”, and for me it truly is. Growing up in a family where emotions were kept beneath the surface and rarely expressed, music became my way of communicating. What I never… - [Contact](https://mikezak.music/contact/) - [Biography](https://mikezak.music/bio/) - [Privacy Policy](https://mikezak.music/privacy-policy/): Who we are Our website address is: https://mikezak.music.
